HUME-SIL

PLANT PROTECTIVE SILICATE

Silicon (Si) is an important element in plant protection systems as it re-inforces cell walls and therefore makes penetration by fungal pathogens and sap sucking insects much more difficult. Getting it into a plant requires it to be in the form of a soluble silicate (SiO2) and introducing it either via the soil or as a foliar treatment

Foliar applications is always much more effective but simple solutions of silicates are not easily taken up by plants when applied this way. HUME-SIL is balanced with a unique humate/fulvate biostimulant addition that makes the silicon much more bio-available. Other benefits of using HUME-SIL include:

  • Stronger stalks and stems to reduce lodging
  • More erect plants with better leaf extension improves photosynthesis
  • Reduced drought stress
  • Improved resistance to saline conditions

FRUITS & VEGETABLES

  • Fruits stay longer on the plant and build more sugars
  • Fruit and vegetables have longer shelf lives and fewer second grade specimens
  • Fruits are tastier and less likely to split even after freezing.

VINEYARDS

  • Helps resistance to fungi, frosts and stress
  • Improves sugar levels
  • Reduces loss through fruit dropping
  • Improves taste

FLOWERS

  • Improves colour and firmness of flower heads
  • Improves shelf life. Displays last longer

Analysis:

SiO2      -   46.8%

Si          -   22.0%

pH        -  9.85  ( 0.025% solution)

Application conditions

HUME-SIL dissolves readily in water . To avoid spray residue, apply product separately.

Irrigation

Use 1.0 kg per ha, apply monthly.

Foliar applications – Fruit trees and Vines,

Use at 250 gr per ha with a suitable wetter. Apply when first leaves appear then weekly until flower buds appear. Continue weekly after fruit set until harvest.

Foliar applications – Field crops, Soft fruit, Vegetables, Salad crops and Ornamentals.

Use at 250 gr per ha with a suitable wetter and apply weekly until harvest.
