HUMIX®: Hume-1200
Group 2 Fertilizer
Registration number, Act 36/47 – B3511
Organic registration number, SGSOPS/05/71
Humic acid
Product description:
A dark brown potassium humate-containing liquid. The product contains 12% humic acid and 5% potassium (dwb*). The humic acid portion also contains a minimum of 1,6% fulvic and ulmic acids. The product acts as a slow release organic carbon source for soil micro organisms which in turn release bound soil minerals and stimulate general plant growth. The high organic content of Humic acid also acts as an effective buffer against fertiliser and sodium in brackish soils.
General information:
¨ Contains bio-active carbon and other nutrients for soil micro- organisms.
¨ Stimulates root and plant growth.
¨ Stimulates seed germination and tuber formation.
¨ “Dissolves” and softens clay soils and prevents Na+ uptake.
¨ Increases water retention.
¨ Increases the cation exchange capacity (CEC) in the root zone.
¨ Keeps plant nutrients in the root zone longer.
¨ Releases fixed nutrients such as phosphates.

Fruit trees
Young trees
5-7mℓ/tree
Apply directly after planting. Repeat 4 weeks later in sandy soils.
Adult trees
15 – 50ℓ/ha
The degree of crust formation will determine the dosage. The dosage can be split on sandy soils.

45ℓ/ha with planting, followed by 2x15ℓ/ha.
Grain crops
2-4ℓ/ha
Apply with sowing or directly thereafter. In sandy soils apply beneficial microbes.
With urea
10% of urea solution
To prevent leaching and volatalisation. Nitrogen application can be reduced.
With Boron and molibdate
1ℓ/100g B
1ℓ/10g Mo
To prevent the leaching of boron and molibdate in sandy soils.
Brackish soils
35-150ℓ/ha
Binds sodium and prevents the uptake thereof by the plant.
Recommendations:
¨ Can be integrated as part of the total fertiliser program of most crops.
¨ Can be applied at any time during the growth period of the plant as a soil conditioner and pH buffer and to stimulate fungal growth.
¨ Can be applied through any type of irrigation system.
¨ Is incompatible with most agro-chemicals except those mentioned above (see dosage rates).
Storage:
Store in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight.
